By: Tara Olivo
Associate Editor at Nonwovens Industry
The Board of Directors of Mann+Hummel announced the appointment of Werner Lieberherr as the new chief executive officer. He takes up the new position with immediate effect. Since 2010, Lieberherr was president and chief executive officer of the publicly traded company B/E Aerospace, Inc. Following the acquisition of B/E Aerospace by Rockwell Collins in April 2017, he accompanied the successful integration of the group as executive vice president & chief operating officer and the ongoing acquisition of Rockwell Collins by United Technologies. Previously, Lieberherr spent 16 years in various management positions in the energy industry at ABB and Alstom Power, Inc. Lieberherr holds a degree in Technical Management and Operations Research from ETH Zurich and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago. During his career in Europe, Asia and the U.S., he was instrumental in the success of international technology companies. “I very much look forward to my new position at Mann+Hummel. This traditional company has achieved impressive growth over the past 10 years,” says Lieberherr. “I see tremendous potential, as filtration technologies will become increasingly important in the future. I also look forward to actively shaping the future success of the company with the management team and employees to offer innovative products to our customers.” Chairman of the Mann+Hummel Board of Directors Thomas Fischer enthusiastically notes, “Entrepreneurial thinking and experience in different technology markets paired with a pronounced customer focus and internationality were part of our specifications. Werner Lieberherr fulfills these requirements completely. I look forward to a trusting and successful cooperation and wish him every success.”
